We are hoping to travel from Trieste to Venice on 26.6.2025 at 10.35 to find "seat reservations are not available". Is it that we are too early? If so, when is the advice to next check? Or might it be that no reservations are required? Thanks".

You are too early. Italian railways are always late in publishing timetables. It should be enough to check again by the end of May or so.
There are fast regional trains with no need to reserve a seat on that route which take sometimes only about 15 minutes longer than the high speed trains with mandatory seat reservations.
Look at a random date next week to get an idea of the schedule.
