It's possible to book a private compartment, but only as a regular ticket, not as a pass reservation. You can of course book 4 berths with a pass and check before paying that they're in the same compartment. You can do that on raileurope.com.
As far as i am aware the french night trains habe shared 4 person compartments in first class and shared 6 person compartments in second class. The cost for the reservation is 20€ ( best booked via raileurope).
