How to plan a day-ride on a specific route (VIA stations)

Usually I plan a specific Route step by step.

Now, on my way back home to Northern Germany, I'd like to take the night-train from Basel SBB to Hamburg and further to my destination (Salzwedel).

If I plan with this destination, the system kicks me off the train at 5:30 am in Hannover and leads me on short way to my destination. So far, so bad, because I'd like to stay in the night-train till Hamburg and from there to my final destination Salzwedel.

There is a travelday left, but because the train is leaving switzerland the day before, the return trip is used.

My solution woud be to plan the trip VIA Hamburg (the route that by german rail app is proposed). But how to get this VIA in the railplanner-app?

Any proposals to solve this issue would be fine.

You can just put in the rail planner: Basel-Hamburg and then Basel-Salzwedel. But if this is your inbound trip, the later isn’t covered anyways, but wouldn’t be either if you changed in Hannover. Since the next-day rule covers only the train you board before midnight, but the moment you change trains in the morning, you have to use another travel day.
To still have the whole travel day, you would have to somehow get to Karlsruhe without using your pass, which is the first station the train reaches after midnight. But that might be more expensive than Hamburg-Salzwedel
