How to reserve a seat from Paris to Zurich on SNCB International while country of residence is France ?

Hello, I want to book a seat on the train going from Paris to Zurich on SNCB International (I’d rather do it on their site rather then on rail planner app in order to be seated next to my friend), but when I put France as my country of residence the website takes off the interrail price and puts the regular price without taking into account the pass while it is my only trip to leave my country of residence . Do you know how I could reserve this seat ?

Thank you very much for your help !

That's a bug then.

You can also use raileurope.com.

Or book via SNCF (no extra fees, but only ticket office or by phone).

In addition, if you live in France, then you're supposed to get free reservations for your inbound and outbound reservations ("parcours d’approche”) if you book via SNCF.

Thank you very much for your answer and your help ! Does the “parcours d’approche” apply only for trains within France (ex : I have to take a train from Paris to Mulhouse for my parcours d’approche and then pay for my train from Mulhouse to Zurich), or it applies to go out of the country (directly from Paris to Zurich ?). I am trying to reach the SNCF by phone but they don’t answer…

Good question. I'm not sure…

Pass reservations for the TGV to Basel or Zurich are expensive: €29 in 2nd and €39 in 1st class. If you have to pay for a reservation on the international TGV, then I'd get a free reservation from Paris to either Mulhouse or Strasbourg and then use a TER to Basel. From Basel, you can use any train and reservations within Switzerland are a waste of money.

Parcours d’approche is only for domestic journeys yes. You could travel on a TGV Lyria but only as far as Mulhouse officially.
