Hi, I’m a 27 year old girl who loves to travel and I’ve always wanted to do a Interrail trip. Since I’m not as young as I used to be and right now i’s the perfect time for me to finally do it, I’ve started to plan and organize the optional routes recently after looking for all sorts of videos and information I could find.

My goal is to do a backpack trip on my own and my main focuses are be in places I haven’t been, art museums and nature. I do like history museums or historic places too. I always wanted to go to Florencia to see some of my favorite art and the city itself so I figured I could start there and since I’m from Mallorca, an island in Spain, I have to get on a plane or a really long boat trip to go anywhere anyway. My route for now is at least 2 days in Florencia (Italy), then going around Trento/Bolzano area where I could just stay for some hours or maybe stay one night in a hostel. Then, Innsbruck (Austria) for at least a day, maybe too, go to lake Achensee and maybe swim a bit if the weather is nice. Then probably Munich (Germany) for at least 1 night/2 days. There, at least visit the Dachau Camp, which I know is not the most fun or beautiful place and I know can be very hard but it’s important for me to see it and I already went to Auschwitz. From Munich I’m not sure if I’d go directly to Berlin and finally Bremen since I have friends in both cities and I can stay for more days in both cities since I can stay at their places so I would be saving up money for hostels. Another option could be go from Munich to Viena (Austria) to mainly see Klimt’s art and then go to Berlin, maybe even stopping for a day in Prague (Czech Republic) on my way to Berlin. I also know for sure that I want to ride a night train and sleep on it at least once both for the experience and to also have another way of saving time and money.

I’d like my Interrail to last for around 14-17 days minummum and 20-22 max and I’m still figuring out if it would be better around the start of August maybe ending of August to September. I was looking for any tips, which passes would be better, any advice or knowledge in general, of hostels and of trains if anybody has been in any of this cities or has travelled from/to any that I mentioned or maybe even done a similar route. I’m still trying to understand the train maps and I’ve looked at some hostels in the cities or places nearby and I know it’s better to not have everything booked already and kind of improvise or see when you’re there sometimes but at the same time at least have some things checked, booked or secured before starting the trip. I don’t really want to spend a lot of money (I know this is not exactly cheap) but I also don’t have a super tight budget. Thank you for your time and help!
