inbound / outbound - how many?

Hi,
I understand the inbound / outbound concept of the global passes.
Just one question: I remember that I had THREE such days with a 5 day pass.
Is that still the case? and how many with the 4 day pass?
I read somewhere about 2 days so I was confused, and just wanted to be sure about the exact number.
thanks

If you want to be sure how many i/o days you have, you can activate your pass and then deactivate it again.

It depends on which is your home country.

Most countries get two outbound/ inbound days. There was a trial offering 3 or even 4 days to residents of some countries, to take into account the long journeys you'd have to make to reach the border.

I believe this is permanent for Sweden now? But I don't know about Switzerland.

Ah, intersting to know, would be great to see somewhere an overview by residence country and passes 4, 5 etc.of the current regulation.

I’m not sure if the trial is still ongoing but the pass I bought two months ago still has 3 I/O days (my country of residence is also Switzerland).

Part of this trial are/were also Austria and the Netherlands. IMO this also depends somehow on how interrail-friendly the countries/national railways are.

I read once from an informed source in Switzerland that the third day is to give the possibility to take a night train for the inbound journey. An example:

1 - Outbound: Genève - Zürich - NJ - Wien

2 - Inbound: Wien - NJ - Zürich

3 - Inbound: Zürich - Genève

That would mean it's just a workaround for a known bug in the app.
