Interail, activated day - should I specify train

Hello,

Should I specify every train, I am going to use when my day is activated?

I need to travel from Chamonix-Mont Blanc to Annecy. I find that there is several trains with 2 changes for approx.  2 h and cca 20 minutes after 18:00. However Interail app suggestion send me over Geneve and the journey takes 6 hours with arrival after midnight. It does not work for me.

Can anyone help me if I can travel only with active day without specifying train?

You must add the correct train. If it doesn't appear in the results, you may add it manually (there is an option).

I know there were (are) some issues with the Leman Express network missing from Rail Planner. Look at either SNCF or SBB and log accodingly. Hope that helped.

What is your travel date?

In any case, what the Rail Planner app says isn't relevant. If the operator says a train exists, then it exists and you can add it manually.

It's a bug in the app, as it doesn't recognise transfers at Saint Gervais les Bains: the station has two different names, one for Mont Blanc express (narrow gauge) trains coming from Chamonix and the other for mainline trains.

If you want to add these journeys, search using the distinct spelling:

Chamonix to "Saint-Gervais-les-Bains"

"St Gervais les Bains le Fayet" to Annecy

@Eurail Community Moderator The app should show transfers between these two stations, which really are one station with two track gauges (Saint-Gervais-les-Bains" and "St Gervais les Bains le Fayet")

Ah yes, I've seen this before. Not sure if it had already been reported here; I can't find any old post mentioning this, although ISTR there was one :/

Hi @Schelte

Thank you tagging us. I have escalated this with the timetable specialist.
