I am planning to travel trough Europe with a friend from the 28th of may until the 11th of june. We start from the Netherlands and would like to go to the balkans and back. We did a bit of research and found out that the international trains from and to Belgrado(Beograd) are not riding. But Belgrado is probably our most important stop because we would like to go from Sofia to Belgrado and from Belgrado to Zagreb. Can anyone tell us if this is possible in the period we’re travelling. Or that there is another option to travel from Sofia to Zagreb. We want to avoid going back to Budapest. And if it is possible without spending more money than necessary for night train reservations with our interrail card.

It’s a long way round, but I saw on Twitter the other day that Budapest-Belgrade is possible by train now.

So you could go from Croatia to Hungary to Serbia.
