My family with 2 children will have an afternoon to spend in Lucerne (4 hours roughly) and an evening in Zürich (again, around 4 hours). In both cases we will be near the main station. Any suggestions for things to see or do please?

+7I can recommend doing the short walk on the Museggmauer(city wall) and going up the towers which you can go up.
If you had more time in Luzern the Museum “Verkehrshaus der Schweiz” would have been an idea (its an expensive Museum but you can spend a full afternoon there)
