I have a seat reservation from Milan to Paris on the TGV. i now intend to board the same train one stop in at Turin.  I can’t foresee a problem using the original seat reservation from Milan. Can anyone foresee an issue with this that i have not considered? thanks Peter

Trenitalia have nothing to do with this train.

SNCF don't really like that you use only part of a ticket or reservation. If there are platform checks in Turin, you might have a problem.

TGV pass reservations are fully refundable, so you could book a reservation from Turin and then cancel the one from Milan. The best place to book is on raileurope.com.

Hi Peter! I believe that you would not find any problems in doing that, because your seat is reserved when the train starts. But, if they check your ticket in Turin you may have to explain them your situation. Nevertheless, I would contact Trenitalia or SNCF for more feedback.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the replies i’d thought id fill you in as the journey was taken last friday.  i have departed from  Torino Porta Susa a few times and aware there are no barriers to the platforms and of course even though its SNCF train the departure is from italy so no SNCF staff.  The other thing is there are no stops between Milan and Torino and therefore no opportunity to give the seat away.  It was a calculated risk but there were no issues at all.
