I've just looked at my old e-mails (Jan 2024) and yes indeed, they did refund me when the 2024 code became available.  OK, it was only 18 euros, but worth having!  Naturally this could be out of date but the e-mail address with which I corresponded was contact.int@stenaline.com - and they were based on Holyhead and had a phone number (though I don't think I used that) of 03447 707070.  The Stena staff were pretty decent.

Hoping it's successful for you too!

Thanks, the contact details could be very helpful! If I don't hear back from Stena Line regarding my request, I'll try there. Hopefully I'll have good news to report here afterwards.

Message from Stena Line 🎉

Yes, this is because your travel date is in 2026. We recommend making your new booking at the beginning of 2026, if possible.

Currently, we are unable to provide a deadline for when this discount will be available for the new year.

After several years, they should be prepared for the fact that one year ends and a new one begins 😄 But it sounds like I'll still get my discount... eventually.

Agreed!  I wonder if it might just be worth your going back to them and, everso politely of course(!), saying that given the uncertainty over time, you would prefer not to delay booking... and that you are aware that in previous years they've agreed to refund any overpayment that arises under these circumstances…

Fingers crossed for you!

I might wait a little longer before trying that. So far, the discount has always been available sooner or later, and there's still some time until mid-March. Knowing myself, I'll start getting impatient by mid-January at the latest if nothing has happened by then.

That sounds perfectly sensible to me!

The discount isn’t exactly huge to begin with, especially on longer routes where it only covers the base fare not cabins.

It is often worth looking at the special offers available through the ferry company websites as they can be better value than regular fares with the eurail discount.

I missed this year's Black Friday deal by one day and was so mad with myself that I almost decided not to take the ferry at all. It's more of a psychological thing now—I know I won't save much, especially since I'm only booking a one-way ticket. But I don't want to wait too long either, as it usually only gets more expensive the closer the departure date gets. But I'm keeping an eye on the deals.

Is that a Stena Black Friday deal?  Just checking, because the current interrail.eu BF offer is still on until 10:00 CET on 17 December.

Yes, the deal was offered directly by Stena Line without any connection to Interrail: 25% off the entire booking, including cabin or car. It was valid until December 1, and I attempted to book on December 2. That pretty much ruined my evening :/

Oh well, worse things happen at sea.....

(Sorry!)

Update! As of today, the new discount code is online. I won't be requesting a refund because I booked with 20% early bird discount some time ago, so I would only get about €6 refunded.

But maybe someone has been waiting for this – in that case, happy booking! EUR2026 is your code :) Safe crossing!
