We are planning to begin our return journey on September 13 from Ljubljana.

The plan is:  Ljubljana to Munich during the day, then Nightjet from Munich.  I want to book the Nightjet, so we definitely have a space.

However, Im not sure if we want to spend the final night in Antwerp or Liège prior to going from Brussels back to the UK  on 15 September.

My query is this:  do all night trains on this line stop at Liège?

If I book to Brussels, can we still get off at Liège if we decide last minute?

Is Antwerp or Liège best for a day?

Thanks

Getting of earlier is usually not a problem. (i even encoutered people asking to stay on for one more stop without problems) Just tell them so you get your breakfast earlier. And in italy i encountered night trains skipping stops where no one planned to get off in order to make up some time.

I think there is only the NJ468 (and no other night trains from munich to bruxelles.

Since the Nightjet leaves Munich at 23:30 (possibly midnight) I might suggest getting on earlier. Either in Salzburg or even already Vienna. For example this itinerary takes the new Koralm high-speed line and the slow but terribly scenic Semmering line :)

- Ljubljana - Villach Hbf 09:35 - 11:22

- RJX Villach Hbf - Wien Hbf (Vienna) 11:33 - 15:07

- Nightjet Wien Hbf - Brussels 18:13 - 09:59

Nothing wrong with going via Munich though, it's also scenic! The Nightjet timetable could still change by few minutes due to last-minute works along the way.
