Nightjet Timetable Change Firenze to Salzburg

I booked a Nightjet train for me and my wife scheduled for May 25 which departs Firenze S.M.N. at 21:48 and arrives at Leoben H.B.F. at 6:25 via Nightjet 40294 on May 26 and then we transfer to Salzburg and arrive at 9:44 via Eurocity 218. I got a notification saying that the journey has changed with a change to the timetable and that my ticket will remain valid. However, it gives alternative trains and the option to pay for them again. Do I need to do this? I cannot tell what actually changed with my booking. There is still an alternative option taking Frecciarossa 9592 to Milano Centrale and then getting on the same Nightjet train to Leoben and then going to Salzburg, but it looks like it is asking for me to pay for this. I’m just not sure what to do and on top of that, my phone carrier is currently not letting me make international calls to OBB which is who I booked through. I’m working on getting that fixed as well.

Any help would be appreciated to at least relieve some anxiety. Thank you!

Definitely do not cancel your reservations, they are still valid.

If your eurail app has the wrong station listed then update it, a search on mine shows the correct station for that train, just add the new connection, including a local train from Firenze S.M.N if you need to take one to connect, and use that instead.

Trains in the app can be added, removed and changed as much as you like, all that matters is that you activate the correct ones once you are 100% sure which you will travel on.

NJ 40294 is showing as stopping at Firenze Campo di Marte at 21.48, not serving Firenze S.M.N.

Ok @Al_G I see that now, thank you. Do you know if I need to cancel my current booking and then pay for that one? I don’t see a way to just switch over to that route in the app. I guess the change I was notified about is for the station change.

Thanks @Al_G that makes sense. I’ll give that a try and try to get it figured out.
