I know this platform is mostly for asking rail questions, but I think this platform may be a good place to ask.

Has any female travellers in the community used the platform Nomad Sisters, where you sign up and stay with a local woman for free? For people who has used the platform what’s your feedback and is t safe and legit?  Thanks!

Hey, just saw your post.

I’ve used Nomad Sister a couple of times and it’s totally legit.

It works more like a community than a booking platform, so the hostesses are volunteers and you can’t really expect instant confirmations everywhere, but that’s part of the deal I guess.

What I liked is that you send a short personalised message when you request to stay. It takes a bit of time if you do it properly, but I just started from a base message and tweaked it depending on each profile, and that worked fine for me. It may be a bit repetitive for some but I understand that it’s for the respect for the volunteer hostesses.

And honestly the stays I did get were really nice and safe. I pesonally would not want to stay with any men (due to bad experiences on Couchsurfing) so this is a great alternative for me as I would prefer staying with the locals rather than staying in hotels/ hostels.

Accommodation is free, and the hostesses I met were genuinely happy to host and share their time with you. I was staying with a hostess in Rome and she offered me an amazing free tour guide for a day, while offering me a guest room to stay, showing me spots I would never have found alone. That was really cool and totally unexpected!

Hope it helps!
