Not able to use Eurostar vouchers when purchasing seat reservations

Apologies if you are reading this twice.  I wrote this at the end of an earlier posting and then noticed that it was headed up with ‘solved’ and so thought it may not be read.

I previously sought advice on this forum about using Eurostar vouchers (for a delayed departure) to part pay for reservations on the London to Paris train.  I received some good advice.

Unfortunately i called just now and was told that vouchers could not (no longer?) be used for Interrail passholder reservations.

Alls well that ends well.

 

I have just telephoned Eurostar again.  My intention had been to request to receive a cash payment as it proved impossible to use my vouchers.  However the person I spoke with basically said I could use my two vouchers and so I now have two  Eurostar seat reservations paid for using my vouchers and no booking fee was taken.

So in future, ask for cash ("partial refund” as Eurostar call it) when you claim compensation.

Eurostar don't mention this limitation though:
