Nice to meet you, I'm Bruna Kozel.
I'm Brazilian and I'm going on a trip to Europe in April 2025, passing through several countries, Spain, Madrid and ending in Berlin. I intend to do many Eurail train sections, the pass for which I have already purchased.
However, I need help with OBB Nighjet as I purchased an overnight flight from Zurich to Berlin on the wrong date. Does anyone know how to help me? I try to contact him but they don't respond. Thanks.

You’re already doing the right thing. Where did you buy the reservations for the Nightjet? Directly with them or via Eurail, or another way?

They will get back to you eventually, don’t worry, mention your travel date to get prioritised correctly. But it might take a bit of time.

If reserved via Eurail, get in touch via https://eurail.zendesk.com/hc/en-001

If reserved via ÖBB, use their customer service https://www.oebb.at/en/reiseplanung-services/kundenservice .

Or do it online, like rvdborgt said, quite easy.

Alternatively, there are plenty of day trains as well none of them needing any reservation at all, potentially saving you some money.

(PS Contrary to the name “nightjet” is a train, not a plane, you won’t have an overnight flight😉).

Pass reservations for Nightjet are 100% refundable until 15 days before travel.

So you can book a new reservation and then cancel the old one. You can do this online.

Thank you very much for the answers Brendam and rvdborgt!
The problem is that I can't find another trip on the same route on 04/22/2025, so I need to try to change it and not cancel it.

Can you tell me if there is another railway company that runs this night route between Zurich and Berlin besides OBB?

Thank you!

There are engineering works in Germany on 22/4 and it's not entirely clear to me yet what they'll do with this night train (NJ 409).

Nightjet.com, bahn.com and fahrplan.oebb.at say it will run but you can’t book it. They don't indicate any stops between Zurich and Mannheim, which says to me that the timetable is probably not ready yet.

tickets.oebb.at says you need to change trains in Stuttgart and Mannheim.

However, nightjet.com does allow booking from Mannheim (dep. 23:42). Since the price of the supplement doesn't depend on the distance, I'd book that for now, and keep an eye on the timetable to see when you need to leave Zürich. I think it will run from Zurich but the timetable is not ready yet. You can keep the reservation from Mannheim; it doesn't matter that you board earlier. Nobody else can book your couchette or sleeper for Zurich-Mannheim.

I understood rvborgt!
So do you think it's possible that I can still book this night train on 22/04/2025 if the timetables come out?
Should I cancel the reservation I have on 04/23/2025 and book Zurich-Mannheinn?

Sorry for so many questions. This is the first time I have traveled by train through Europe and your help has been essential.

Does anyone know the DB Hinfahrt railway? It looks like it runs between Zurich and Berlin.

Do you have night cars?

DB trains that run during the night only have seats, thus no possibility to lie down.

Probably but other people can book from Mannheim in the meantime, which means prices go up (also for pass reservations) and it may even get fully booked.

Should I cancel the reservation I have on 04/23/2025 and book Zurich-Mannheinn?

If you're not going to use the reservation on 23/4, then cancel it. Zurich-Mannheim on 22/4 can't be booked, but as I wrote, you can book Mannheim-Berlin.

Indeed the NJ should still be running during the 10 day Easter closure.

I had some doubts until now but if they updated the times (and not only removed stops) it's definitely a good sign!

- Zurich-Berlin: usually leaves at 19:59, here 20:10

- Zurich-Hamburg: usually 20:59, here 20:54

- Zurich-Amsterdam: usually 21:34, here 21:59

Book Mannheim-Berlin now, wait a week or two and hopefully things should be clearer.

(We're still waiting on the regional replacement bus concept...)
