Hi there,

I’m travelling with my family from Avignon to Lille on 28th August.

We have to catch the Eurostar to London at 16.35.

Do you think the 10.39 from Avignon is a good bet? It’s a Ouigo train (I’ve not been on one before, I know it’s not inc in the interrail ticket, we’re on single tickets).

I’ve read there is an issue if the Ouigo train is delayed and you miss your Eurostar connection then they don’t get you on the next train etc. Are they often delayed or generally good?

There don’t seem to be many direct trains from Avignon to Lille (we’re actually staying in Maussane Les Alpilles).

Thanks for any help.

Or I could get an early taxi to the station and get the 7.15am Inoui train?

That Ouigo looks good. 2 hours in Lille-Europe is sufficient margin, it’s a tiny station.

Eurostar staff is generally very helpful and would get you on the next train (they’re not required to but they usually would). A 2h delay is rather rare while 5-10 min are common, don’t worry!

There’s also a 09:32 TGV from Nîmes Pont du Gard but it isn’t easy to reach that station (+ with single tickets just get Ouigo).
