Hi all. We have bought our Eurail passes. I have followed the instructions to book on the obb.at site, but it still says that it will cost EUR 469 to book sleeper berths on the train. Is this correct? I thought the booking fee was only about 40 EUR? Can someone please clarify? Thank you.

The reservation fees for ÖBB are dynamic, unfortunately, depending on demand.
Prices in a couchette start at €20 per berth, but you won’t get a bed in a sleeper for less than €65.
€469 sounds like the top end price for sole use of a private sleeper with WC.

60€ per Person seems correct for a reservation (but on the higher end of the dynamic price)
It doesn't matter if you have a1st or 2nd class pass when you make reservations for couchettes/sleepers on the Nightjet.

That's indeed the current price of a pass reservation for 4 berths in a 4-person couchette compartment.
All NJ accommodation is indicated as 2nd class and ÖBB don't need any pass numbers. The only upgrade you could do is to a sleeper. E.g. 2 2-bed compartments are €559.60 in total. Or 4 beds in 3-bed compartments are currently €479.60 (at least one person would then have a bed in a shared compartment).

Thank you. I ended up booking on the OBB website and it cost me an additional EUR 239,60 for four beds in a couchette. However, we had already paid for first class Eurail passes, and the pdf document said that what I have booked is 2nd class. Is this the right thing or is there an upgrade option? (Or is the only upgrade option the sleepers, which were going to cost around EUR 160 each?)
