Hello everyone !

This summer, I would like to go to Stockholm with my partner and our two daughters. Our departure will be Paris.

I have many questions for the community to better plan our trip:

  • At the time of the trip, our daughters will have 10 months and 3 years → so they won’t need a pass to travel, right?
  • On the web, I saw different possibilities to join Stockholm from Paris.  Paris → Cologne → Hambourg → Copenhague → Stockholm or Paris → Düsseldorf → Hambourg → Stockholm. Has anyone ever done one of these two journeys?
  • What type of pass do you recommend to us?

You can get two free child passes with an adult pass. That means they get a seat!  You need to order these passes, at a cost of €0, at the same time as buying yours.

Count up how many days you will travel on, and that will tell you which pass you need. Do you want to break your journey in Germany somewhere, or go as far as possible?

Thank you for your quick answer. It’s good to know for free child passes.

I think we will break our journey in Germany may be for 3 days and after may be 2 days in Copenhague.

Do you know where I can find information about additional costs for seat reservations? Directly here or on the website of each company?

Most railway companies don’t sell Interrail reservations.

Interrail/eurail charges an additional fee when you make reservations through them.

Have a look at this guide https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm

For seat reservations, use this page as a guide:

It explains what they cost and what the best way is to book them.
