Hi. I can’t believe I have to ask this but I have read through the whole website, watched the videos, read the FAQs and tried to find answers in the Community. Still, I’m confused with trips, journeys, activations, tickets and so on. I believe I will find my way through it when it’s time to travel, but to avoid extra stress, my question is: are these (below) the right steps to use the Mobile Pass?

I have the “5 days per months pass”. I have the app and I have connected my pass to it. Is this what I’ll do next:

1) Create 5 trips, one for each travel day, and connect them to the pass
2) Find the right journeys for each travel day and connect them to the right trip (or is that possible before the pass is valid?)
3) Activate the pass when day one is coming closer
4) On travel day, create a ticket by choosing the right journey from my trips and add it to the pass (will this also activate the ticket?)

  1. A pass can only be connected to one trip. That trip will eventually contain all journeys you'll make with that pass.
  2. You can add journeys to a trip before activating the pass. There no need to, however; you only need to do that before you board a train.
  3. Don't activate your pass or a travel day in advance. Only do that on the day you start your trip. There's no advantage to activate in advance. You can only cancel activation before validity starts, so if you wake up ill on the planned start day, you can't cancel the activation anymore and you can loose travel days.
  4. Correct. When you add the first journey of the day to your pass, you create the ticket for the day.

To get started, activate the pass before your first travel day.

This is not a good idea, see point 3 in my reply above.

, you don't need to create 5 separate trips unless you want to organize them.

You can't have 5 Trips, even if you would like to organize them. Only one Trip per pass is possible.

Last minute panic. I haven’t activated my pass yet, since I’m going to start my journey on Sunday. I was told in this topic that I can add journeys to my trip even before activating the pass. I tried to do it, but my first journey is not in the planner. I know that there is a possibility to add it manually but how, excatly? How is a journey added manually?

Without seeing what’s on your screen I can’t give exact details, but in essence when you go into the planner there should be a “add manual route” button at the bottom of the screen.  In the place where you would otherwise enter origin London, destination Edinburgh (for example) just look on that screen and you should see the “add manual route” button.

And to be clear . . . this is on the planner app on the phone.  You can’t do this on the website.

No worries.  The interface is quite confusing and some things don’t quite jump out like we would expect.  I knew the feature was there, but couldn’t remember what steps to take to get there.
