Problem booking an international ferry - 6-day Greek Islands Pass

Good morning/afternoon everyone,

I tried to book a journey on the Superfast ferry between Bari (Italy) and Igoumenitsa (Greece) using my 6-day pass for the Greek islands, but the same message appears every time: “The discount does not apply to the loyalty card. ”

I have checked using both my Mobile Pass (6 digits including a letter in the middle) and a pass cover number generated via the Interrail website (with and without the first two letters).

The Seaways website states: “Eurail/Interrail GREEK ISLANDS PASS and Eurail/Interrail GLOBAL PASS: Free reservations in ECONOMY CLASS for GREEK ISLANDS PASS holders and 30% discount reservations in ECONOMY CLASS for GLOBAL PASS holders.  Greek Islands Pass 30% in ECONOMY CLASS valid for extra trips. Fill in your Pass Cover Numberin the “Discount ID/Document” field. You can find your Pass Cover Number on the back of your Pass, above the QR code. If you are traveling with a mobile Pass, please fill in your 6-digit mobile Pass number, which you can find in your order confirmation e-mail.”

What’s more, they don’t answer the phone or reply to emails…
What do you advise? / What am I doing wrong?
Thank you very much and have a safe journey!

The international ferries are normally booked on www.superfast.com. Have you tried that?

Thanks for the reply !

Yes I tried directly on www.superfast.com and that’s where I ended up with the “The discount does not apply to the loyalty card. ”…

I maybe have 2 explanations regarding this problem 🤔:

  • My booking is for September, then it’s maybe too soon ?
  • My 1st ferry will be on the 3rd but my pass is starting on the 2nd (why ? I don’t know). Is it maybe a bug linked to that ?

What do you think ? Do you see another explanation ? (Interrail mobile pass number with a letter instead of full numers ? / No seats available in fine ?)

Thanks again and have a good day !

The Interrail mobile pass number has 6 characters, letters and/or digits.

You don't need to activate your pass to make reservations. In fact, it's not a good idea to activate in advance. If you have a validity period, then you explicitly chose a start date. It's best to cancel the activation for now. Only activate on the day you take you first ferry.

I did a test booking on your date with a completely made up mobile pass number (AAABBB) and that worked. It was with “Airplane Type Seats (Lounge 1)” and "INTERRAIL GREEK ISLAND 6 DAYS 2ND CLASS”.

So I suspect it's a local problem. Have you tried an anonymous browser window? Or if you tried booking on a phone, have you tried it on a pc?
