Query about Romanian Rail timetables and tickets

I have a query with Romanian Railways CFR  Calatori, but I am getting very confused answers. Here is the query trail:

Dear Sirs,

I have a ticket from Sibiu to Medias for 2 people on the 17:32 arriving 19:01 on 8th September on train R2567.  Ticket ID 29739615

However when I look on your website at the timetables this train does not appear, only the R2569 at 19:35 arriving 21:07

I need to be in Medias to catch the sleeper train to Wien which leaves Medias at 21:37 and I am worried about the short handover.

  1. Is the 17:32 running that day?
  2. If not, is my ticket valid on the 19:35?
  3. Will I definitely make my sleeper connection at Medias?

Their reply:

Dear customer,

From the checks carried out, the train runs according to the book, there are no delays.

We cannot predict what will happen that day.

If it does not benefit you, give up the ticket - refund according to terms and conditions.

My second query:

Thanks for your reply,  but I don’t think I understand it.

Are you saying that the 17:32 is still scheduled to run that day?

Their second rsponse:

Dear customer,

Follow the official website wwwcfrcalatori.ro, there are changes in circulation, during the next week the exact circulation dates will be established.

If the train does not run, return the ticket according to the terms and conditions outside the standard conditions.

So I feel none the wiser: I am just trying to find out if the train I have a ticket for, the 17:32 is running that day, and if not, can I use it on the next train at 19:35?

Is anyone familiar with how Romanian Railways run, and help me at all?

Did you buy that ticket on the CFR website?

In any case, they'll have to let you onto the next train if the 17:32 doesn't run. Also, the 30-minute connection in Mediaș is a recognised connection.

The way they phrased it, it sounds like the online planner has incomplete data. It would indeed seem a bit strange to cancel 3 out of 5 trains on that route from 1/9.

Edit: you could ask explicitly whether their website www.cfrcalatori.ro has an incomplete timetable for 8/9, and include a screenshot showing the 2 remaining trains it lists.

Thanks so much for your help--yes, I bought the ticket on the Calatori website.

That’s a great suggestion on the screenshot--I have now done that, so lets see what they come back with….
