Hello,
We're still learning about the inbound/outbound travel concept and would appreciate clarification. We're located in Northern Germany and want to visit Trieste as first stage, which would involve a very long journey.
Would it be possible to break up our trip by taking the night train from Northern Germany to Augsburg (which is still within Germany), spending a day there, and then continuing to Trieste on a separate day?
For our return journey, we'd like to do the same thing in reverse - travel to Augsburg, stay there briefly, and then complete the final trip back to Northern Germany on another day, since this would also be quite a long single journey.
Is this type of multi-stage itinerary allowed under the in- and outbound travel rules?
Thanks and best regards,
Thorsten
