I have the Global pass and there is a rail strike for the day we leave Rome for Assisi and then Florence (22 Sept). I read that some of the regional trains are running. We have reservations on the Frecciarosa from Rome to Assisi. Where can I search to find it that train will be running?

There's a list of guaranteed trains here:

More trains may be running and the Trenitalia website will be updated for that, but I don't know how much in advance. The safest is to change your reservation to a guaranteed train.
