Hello. will I have a problem getting seat reservations during busy season if I wait until the 90days before. I could reserve direct but just want to make sure I can get seats if a book close to the 90 days. Thanks

90 days is still a lot of time but it ultimately depends on the exact trains, which means route, date and departure time.

In general, book night trains and Eurostar as soon as possible, and any TGVs after that. For other trains, it's not that critical.

If you are wondering if you will have problems booking 90 days out, or 89, or 88 . . . no, you won’t.

Look at it this way - most people on a train on a given day have not booked it 90 days in advance.  It’s just not what happens.

And . . . if reservations are only available 90 days out then nobody can get ahead of you in the queue and book on day 91.  As long as you are on the ball you will be fine.  You will be the person who is ahead of everyone else in the queue.

However . . . when I’m trying to book/reserve something that I absolutely need (because it’s a connection to something that I can’t miss) then I always try a few days in advance of the normal deadline just in case they are released earlier.
