I have 2 x 5 day interrail passes for me and my wife. I’ve reserved seats on a TGV Inoui from Paris to Strasbourg, but I couldn’t find out how to book our bikes onto the train. I know the train has bike spaces, so how do I add these to my seat reservations?

You'd better call SNCF as soon as possible:

https://www.sncf-voyageurs.com/en/customer-service/contact-us/telephone/

Press #85 for English.

Not all TGV have bike spaces, are you absolutely positive yours have some ?

You cannot add a standalone bike space reservation to a already purchased ticket, and you cannot book it on your own. Where did you buy the seat reservations ? Hopefully they’re refundable.

What you need to do is :

- Call SNCF : +33184943635, press #85 at the end for English, and have them try to book you a seat reservation + a bike space. Last time I tried (at the counter) the lady couldn’t book the two together, hopefully the agent you will have is more competent.

If you get what you need, have the already bought seat reservations refunded.

Worst case scenario, you will need to buy a transport bag for your bycicle and dismantle it before going into the TGV.

DO NOT attempt to board with your bike without a proper bike reservation, this will result in a huge fine.

If nothing works you can take the reservation free TER, bikes are admitted there

You’ll find that this website has a very good overview on how to take your bikes on European trains:

It’s very different on the rail operator, but it’s a good source of information.
