I’m into my second class pass for a few days now in Norway. I’m having no luck reservation of seat on train if it’s required through eurail app. Entur website seems to require i buy ticket to reserve seat which doesn’t make sense. I have to call customer service to reserve seat, lengthy wait but i get the reservation for seat. Why is this so difficult? I am thinking of upgrading to first class pass. Any suggestions?

You can do it on the Entur website (not app). Click where it says Adult, and change it to Interrail/ Eurail. You’ll have to enter your pass number and indicate that it’s second class.
You pay the Standard reservation fee. If there’s Premium class available, you’ll also be given the opportunity to pay the upgrade fee if you want.
The Rail Planner app can't book any reservations, it can only forward to some of the websites where you can book.
The Entur website (entur.no) can book a pass reservation (their app can't). Seat61 explains how:

Hola, a mi em va passar una cosa semblant. Com que a l’app em deia que no quedaven reserves de Barcelona-Lió pel dia que jo volia vaig provar amb Happyrail i en vaig trobar. Un cop adquirits els seients vaig veure que són de 1a classe. I el meu passi és de 2a. Puc tenir problemes? Puc fer alguna cosa per solventar-ho? He anat a Renfe un parell de vegades a demanar-ho i no hi donen importància però em fa por que em caigui una multa o una escena desagradable amb el revisor… Gràcies
I'v read multiple report from people who travelled with a 2nd class pass and a 1st class Renfe reservation, even sold at the Renfe ticket office. It's not documented anywhere but this seems to be OK.
