I am currently traveling in Europe with an Interrail Pass. i live in germany I learned that the Interrail Pass is invalid in the country where I live. For example, would it be invalid for travel between Munich and Salzburg?

The above answer is valid with a Global Pass only. One-country passes only work within the country boundaries (with a few exceptions).
