Question

return trip

Why does my ticket say round trip? I say this because the first trip I made was from Amsterdam to the south of France and I stayed there for a week, but my ticket said round trip, and the last one I made was to Belgium from Amsterdam and I had to buy a return ticket because I had already run out of return tickets. Shouldn't it be better for each person to choose the day they will return, and not have the ticket come out automatically. Because that way they don't lose the return ticket.

Where does it say "round trip”? I've never seen that in the Rail Planner app.

Dutch residents have 3 travel days on which they can travel in the Netherlands (in/outbound). You can choose yourself on which travel days that will be. If you don't want to use an in/outbound day, then don't activate a journey in/from/to the Netherlands. You can still use your pass without an in/outbound day, but you then need to buy an additional ticket for the Dutch part of the journey. You can do that online on www.nsinternational.com with the discount "Free travel on the route in Belgium”.

  1. do you have a global pass?
  2. what country is your “home” country for the purposes of the pass you bought?
  3. as above, where does it say “round trip”?  The pass just accepts point to point values and doesn’t have a concept of a round trip.
