Seat reservation - Chur to Zurich

Hello again! I have added the journey Chur to Zurich on my rail planner last month and at that time Seat reservation was free (pic 1). I just noticed now that the time has changed and now it shows: Seat reservation optional (pic 2). I'm gonna have to delete that journey and enter the new time.

My question is: Is it better for me to pay the Seat reservation to be sure we have seats OR we can just wing it?

We have Eurail Global Pass 1st class.

Thank you!

Thank you for that tip rvdborgt. My concern is, would it be better for us to pay seat reservation so we have reserved seat?

That's wasted money. Especially in 1st  class.

Seat reservations in Switzerland are really a waste of money. No one makes them, so just board the train. If you go towards the ends of the train there are usually less people.

Also, for Switzerland sbb.ch or the SBB Mobile app is much more reliable to plan.

That being said, the correct timetable for this train is already in the Rail Planner app, so there's no need to add it manually.
