Hello! I am planning a trip from Amsterdam Central to Prague Hlvani Nadrazi. I can save 16 euro and about an hour and a half of travel if I do a 5 minute transfer from Schwandorf platform 4 to platform 5 headed to Prague Hlvani Nadrazi at 5pm on a Monday. Do you think I could be successful with this transfer or would it be better to spend the extra 16 and 1.5 hours of travel? Thank you so much for the advice! I’m new to eurrail and appreciate learning from the experience of others.

Update: hmm. Okay, seems for day trains, changes in Frankfurt, Nürnberg and Schwandorf. Engineering works on the line around Schwandorf, but the two lines seem connected.
On the other hand, it’s only a two hour frequency from Schwandorf to Prague, and the 5 PM train seems to be the last direct one of the day. I’lld limit risks and avoid it.
My advice for stick to the long distance trains and avoid hassle with broken up local connections with engineering works. I’lld change your route to Amsterdam-Berlin-Dresden-Prague, I’lld feel more confident since there are more back-up options in case you get delays (almost a certainty in Germany).
