Hi, I'm in Lauterbrunn. I want to visit the snowy mountains, but I don't want to spend more. Are there any trains that my second-class pass includes?

Thanks

Hi, as far as I know, Eurail is valid on the Wengeneralpbahn, but only as far as Wengen, not all the way to Kleine Scheidegg. Is is also valid on the Grütschalp - Mürren railway. If you want to travel further into switzerland, take a look at this map to see where Eurail is valid: https://www.interrail.eu/content/dam/_new-structure/visual/maps/2024-switzerland.pdf

There are barely any railways, cable cars, gondola’s or any other variant that are included in the pass to get you up to the top of the mountain. Usually always an extra price. And on the pricy side alas.

The cheapest way to go on a mountain is to climb one and go on foot if you’re up for it and have the gear ;)
