The connection is shown as having taken place in the past

I’m in London, CET -1; it’s currently 23:15
local time, and a night train departure in 30 minutes’ time at 23:45 is already shown as having taken place. I can’t select it. An hour ago, at 22:15, it was still working. The device on which the app is running is set to CET -1; it’s an iOS device.

I’ve encountered problems with timezone handling in the UK too, although not the exact same issue as you. Also on iOS

I think the problem isn’t that the train’s departure time has passed, but that the app thinks it’s after midnight, so a new travel day has begun.

Were you able you resolve it @Unit22, and were you able to travel? Did you already have an active travel day (from other journeys that day) or was the sleeper your only train?

That definitely sounds like a bug.

Is this about a night train in another time zone? Then at least it shouldn't be a problem to toggle the train if you're in the same time zone.
