Hi,

We are booked on the Bernina Express arriving in the late afternoon into Tirano.  The original plan was to head into Milan and onto Lake Garda but we are struggling on getting to Milan.

I’m struggling to find any way out of Tirano.  I understand the route is closed and a replacement bus service is in action.  Using the Trenitalia web site, it shows no trains.  I assume I would need a ticket for the rail replacement service but if I can’t buy a train ticket, I’m stuck.

If there was a rail replacement timetable, I could sort when we get to Tirano but I can’t seem to find one of them either.

Any advice would be welcome.

Timetables are not available yet but expect a 30-60 min longer journey. There will be hourly buses connecting to trains in Lecco. Your pass is 100% valid, no extra ticket required or anything.

From Milan to Lake Garda you may use reservation-free regional trains or reservation-required high-speed trains. The latter are unlikely to sell out, except perhaps on the day itself.

Basically check again in a week or two. Trenord should publish the bus timetables at some point...
