First time using Eurail in 35 years so a bit rusty with destinations.  I have purchased Frankfurt - Berlin tickets for myself and family.  When I selected it had Berlin (any stop) but the ticket says Berlin Suedkreuz.  Do you know if we can get off at Central Station?  Or do you need to get off at the exact stop?

Thank you

(I have messaged Eurail help but as we leave in 2 days I am getting a bit anxious)

Hello @Team C

Sometimes the trains end at Südkreuz due to engineering works. Give us the date and time of travel if you need a confirmation, Your Eurail pass is valid on S-Bahn (suburban trains) but not on U-Bahn (subway) to continue to the city center. Otherwise, if you choosed the false station, that is not a problem. Define the right one in the Rail Planner app.

Thank you - we are travelling 15/5/25 , leaving Frankfurt at 19.02?

So I can change the end station in the app?

Thank you for your help

@Team C

You can stay in this train until Berlin Hbf. Seat reservations are not mandatory in Germany and will not be checked. Please note that no reservation will be transferred automatically to the Rail Planner app, even if you buy them on the Eurail website.

You must define and activate the right train and the right route in the app before boarding to get a valid ticket for the travel day.

Eurail seem to select Berlin Südkreuz instead of Hbf if you select "Berlin” and your train also serves Südkreuz. Not very logical indeed.

I gather you booked a reservation via Eurail, but this is really not recommended, for a variety of reasons, one of which is that it's almost always more expensive.

Eurail charge €8 per person and train in Germany, whereas DB (bahn.com) charge €5.20 (or €6.50 in 1st class) per person and journey. Families with children up to 14 years old pay €10.40 (€13 in 1st class). ÖBB (tickets.oebb.at) charge €3 per person and train.

The best is to follow this reservations guide:

@Team C

I would add something. The train stops at Südkreuz, Hbf (main station) and Gesundbrunnen. You should check what station is the nearest to your accommodation or what station gives you the easier transfer with S-Bahn, U-Bahn ot tram/bus. You can use the website bahn.de or the DB Navigator app to do that.
