Traveling in December 2025

Hi, I’m new to the Eurorail pass (not new to traveling, just have never gotten a Eurorail pass before) and plan on going to France, Switzerland and Italy in December 2025 (with a day trip to London and a day trip to Strasbourg some of the days).  I’m assuming it’s probably better to get a Eurorail pass for this trip, instead of buying one-way tickets between each destination (some destinations are day trips too).  Is this correct?  Any tips?  We will be in Paris for a week and then going to Switzerland and then Italy the remainder of the trip.  Thanks!

If you want to know wat's cheaper, you'll have to do the maths. For shorter trips, especially with regional trains in Italy, regular tickets can be cheaper than a day on a pass. So you could take a pass with fewer days and buy regular tickets instead. Check prices in Italy on trenitalia.com.

A day trip to London is a bit crazy though. I'd stay there for at least one night. Or fly in to London, go to Paris next, then Strasbourg, then Switzerland and then Italy. And then fly back from Italy.

Thank you!  Do you think the Eurorail pass covers trains to Strasbourg too or only destinations to other countries?

The Eurail global pass covers most trains in Europe, including Paris-Strasbourg. You can use the pass for all my suggestions above.
