Traveling through the Baltic States without Seat Reservation

Hi there,

I want to travel from Tallinn to Warsaw with stops in between in Riga, Klaipeda and Vilnius.

When I tried to make seat reservations on the LTG Website, everything is sold out, like the train is already completely booked out.

Does anyone know how strict they are with the reservations? Maybe I can even buy one on the train?

Unfortunately I really need to take those trains because I book hotels and everything already.

Thanks for your help!

You don't need reservations to go from Tallinn to Riga, except in 1st class in Estonia (Tallinn-Valga).

Riga-Šiauliai looks fully booked on 12/7. AFAIK the ticket office in Riga doesn't sell tickets or reservations for this train.

Šiauliai-Klaipeda has availability on 12/7. There are also direct buses from Riga to Klaipeda,. e.g. Lux Express.

Klaipeda-Vilnius still has many available trains on 13/7 or later.

Vilnius-Warsaw on 16/7 still has free seats on intercity.pl (PKP IC website). Price is €3.50. See instructions on Seat61's pass reservation page. For 1st class, split the booking in Mockava: book Vilnius-Mockava via LTG and Mockava-Warsaw via PKP.

Buying reservations at the station is often possible, but also in Spain some trains may be full at short notice. In the Baltics, this is especially true for the international trains.

No all trains have reservations. And for Vilnius to Warsaw, there may be more availability when splitting up in Mockava.

However, what are your travel dates for which routes? Trains in the Baltic states often can't be booked more than a month in advance.

I wanna go to Riga tomorrow. And then the days after to Klaipeda and Vilnius and to Warsaw on the 16th.

I thought I could just buy them at the station, like I did in Bulgaria and Spain.
