Trouble reserving seats in Spain

I am looking to travel in Late October, so within 90 day booking window, and when I search reservations for trains from Madrid to Caceres, I see the train I want is available and reservations can be booked, but when I log in to purchase, they are no longer available and I get a message “No Price Results were found, Passholder reservations may be sold out”

I have tried different browsers and even tried rail Europe (no results found for this route) and Happy Rail (no prices found).

 

Can any one identify my problem and have a resolution?

You're too early. This train can currently be booked until 10 Oct.

Pass reservations are available on happyrail.com for €2. They're probably free of charge at a ticket office in Spain.

Please always mention date and departure time. There can be multiple causes for reservations not being possible and without details we can only guess.

Renfe don't have a 90-day booking window. They open reservations when they feel like it and it can vary a lot.

thanks, the date is October 31, 2025, at 14:50.  That is less than 90 days but it appears that is not an exact number.  I am booking Renfe on this journey. I assumed that could be the problem, but the reservations are available when I search without being logged in, could the date still be the issue?

This train can currently be booked for journeys until 10 October. You can see that for yourself on renfe.com or happyrail.com. From 11/10, there aren't any journeys shown yet.

When Renfe can be bothered to open reservations for journeys from 11/10 is anyone's guess.
