Dear experienced travellers,
I am planning a trip to Italy this summer with my family by train, but have some uncertainties about the travelling days/planning. Hopefully anyone in this community can help me with some advice.
Our plan is to travel from our homecity 's-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands to Rome for a week or so, than to a small city underneath Napels (to visit Napels, the Vesuvius and Pompei) for a few days and then return home. My most important question, are the outward and inward journey to our homecountry included in the 4 days of the 'global pass 4 days'?
A bit more explanation with the schedule for our first trip from home to Rome (:-)) that would look something like this:
- 20.09u Departure 's-Hertogenbosch
- 23.44u Arrival Koblenz
- 00.49 Departure Koblenz
- 06.20 Arrival Basel
- 06.28 Departure Basel
- 10.40u Arrival Milano
- 10.58u Departure Milano
- 14.10 Arrival Roma
If I understand correctly, this will mean two travelling days. Our first outbound journey from 's-Hertogenbosch to Koblenz and our second from Koblenz (because afther 00.00u) to Roma. So if the 4 travelling days of the 'Global Pass 4 days' includes the outbound journey we now only have 2 days left. Our journey homeward from Naples will also take two days since we almost cannot reach the Netherlands during 1 day. Am I correct here? Because in this case we will have to pay the trip from Rome to Naples ourselves. A 'Global Pass 5 days will be more interesting than, a ticket from Rome to Naples seems to be more expensive than the extra costs for the Global Pass 5 days.
Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge! ;-)
Greetings,
Hanno Maas
