Planning my first big trip!
I want to fly into Sofia on July 22nd then visit Veliko Tarnova before leaving the country (ideally to Brazov) I know there are repair works but it seems almost impossible to get out of the country!
Is there any quick way e.g. in 10/12 hours to get into Romania? or do I just have to skip Bulgaria which would be a great pity

Timetables from 13 June are not complete yet. Check a date before that; timetables shouldn't change much.
There's basically one journey per day, see bahn.com. Don't count too much on making the 26-minute connection in Bucharest, but there's also a later train.

+8I’m not sure about the track works. If there are, there’s always a bus. Veliko Tarnovo isn’t that far from Bucharest.
In the summer, you might be able to get on the direct Istanbul-Bucharest train, which calls at VT in the late morning.
