Hi

  1. I will be reaching Venice San Lucia train station on 8 September at 2.30 pm and will depart from Venice at 10 am on 10 September. I am planning to buy a multi-day pass for travelling on  Vaporetto  during my stay.

Should I buy a 48 Hrs pass or 72 hours pass? I am travelling on an EUrail Global Pass.

  1. I am planning to buy on line tickets for MUSEI DI PIAZZA SAN MARCO - PALAZZO DUCALE. I am 75 years old and my wife is 73 years old. We are Australian citizens. Can I buy OVER65 ticket or should I buy SINGOLO ticket for my wife and myself?

Regards

Where are you staying, and how much do you expect to use the vaporetti?

They’re expensive, and not always useful to reach where you want to go. I found that one trip down the Grand Canal was enough, and the rest of the time I got around by walking, or by paying a couple of € for a traghetto (short crossing by vaporetto or gondola).

If you are doing a trip to Murano or the Lido, it makes sense to do all your vaporetto travel on one day. A 24 or 48h would be enough.

On the other hand, if you’re staying near a vaporetto stop, and you expect to be using it to commute every day, a longer ticket makes sense.

As far as I can see, the reduction for over-65s doesn’t mention anything about citizenship restrictions. I say go fit it!
