I am trying to buy Minicabin reservations from Vienna to Rome on the 01/04 Nightjet on OBB’s website, but I am getting an error:
“currently not available: Due to construction work or missing timetable information, it is currently not possible to book a reservation for this train. It is not yet possible to predict when the information will be available. Please check regularly to see whether your connection can already be reserved.”
I’ve checked 10 days ago and everything was fine: now, there are no dates available until June or July and I’m wondering which alternative can work, because it doesn’t seem something related to lack of availability.
It’s my first interrail and I’m travelling with my 12 yo daughter, I definitely need to be in Rome on the 03/04 morning the latest, because we have our flight from there to Cagliari on that day.
I know I’ve waited too much for buying reservations, but we had some issues to solve…

It should be possible to book now a Nightjet to Venezia Mestre on the 01/04 and continue with a Frecciarossa to Rome, but no Minicabins are available, only “Ladies only compartment for 4 passengers”.
You could obtain a refund if the direct train is later available.
