We are going in july 2026. I would appreciate any advice/reccomendations with navigating/staying in Albania. We are travelling from Athens Greece to Albania, and then into Croatia. With out final destination being Split. We would like budget friendly destinations and some ressurance on the public transport. Thankyou!!

There are no trains on that route, except the Greek domestic trains to take you to the north, closer to the Albanian border.

But the region is well-covered by buses. You can check schedules on Rome2Rio or Traveling.com.

Once you get to Split, you’ll rejoin the train network.

From Kotor to Dubrovnik, and up the Croatian coast, there are some great ferries. Faster and more comfortable than the bus, but more expensive.
