I can’t believe it we have left our Eurail passes in Melbourne. Has anyone ever done this before? Can you get them replaced?

Ah, that sucks. Unforunately, there’s no way to reissue a lost pass for free.

You would need to buy new passes and claim on your insurance (if it’s covered). Is there any way somebody at home can get into your house and Fedex them to you at an address in Europe?

We are looking in to seeing if we can get them Fedexed  to Europe. Midnight  in Australia  so will be tomorrow  before  we can can anyone  to the house. Unfortunately  looking at Fedex the earliest  we could get them from Australia  to Europe  looks to be the 16th.

If we get new passes will we be able to keep all of the existing  reservations or are they void?

Is there any way we can convert  the paper  passes to e passes?

Your reservations will be fine. They’re not tied to the individual pass.

Unfortunately there’s no way to convert a paper pass to a mobile pass. Although if you buy a new one, you can buy a mobile pass and use it straight away.

Also worth knowing that there’s a 25% discount at the moment, so that might make buying a new pass less painful - especially if you are insured for the lost passes

Do the paper passes have a predefined start date? If not, then you can get a refund (or do an exchange), assuming you bought them on eurail.com:

If you still want a paper pass, then depending on where exactly you are now, you may be able to buy paper passes at a ticket office. This is e.g. possible in Germany (limited stations), Belgium (Brussel-Zuid/Midi only) and the Netherlands (Amsterdam Centraal and Schiphol Airport only). Maybe also in some other countries.

As per Camilos post above, my suggestion would be to contact eurail directly and explain the situation.  There are many ways to get this sorted - buy a new pass and get the old one refunded being the most basic one.  Once you talk to customer support I’m sure they will be able to line something like that up and confirm that the paper pass is eligible to be refunded.
