Good morning,

I am traveling from Bologna to Aachen on the Rail-jet (Bologna-Monaco via Brennero) with the German rail pass. I had confirmation from Trenord staff that I should not pay the 10€ supplement due to the nature of German rail pass itself, but it seems like this information is unknown to most people, including Austrian staff, since many times, during previous trips, they asked me to pay it.

Is there someone who could tell me where to find more informations about the 10€ zuschlag and German rail pass?

I don’t know anything about the rules for the German pass, so I couldn’t confirm what you’re saying about not needing to pay the supplement.

But I think the general advice is to pay onboard if asked, keep the receipt, and then contact Eurail for reimbursement.

@BrendanDB my information is that German Rail Pass does not need the supplement on DB-ÖBB EC.

But I can find nothing official.
