- Article 1: Organiser and Participation Eligibility
- The Prize Draw is organised by Interrail B.V., a private company with limited liability, with its registered office at Jaarbeursboulevard 286, 3521 BC, Utrecht, The Netherlands, listed in the Commercial Register of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce and Industry under number 30206952 (hereinafter ‘Interrail’, ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’).
- The Prize Draw is open to all natural persons of 16 years or older at the time of entering in the Prize Draw. Employees of Interrail, and their relatives, sponsors or other persons directly related to Interrail are excluded from participation.
- Amongst the requirements to travel with an Eurail/Interrail Pass (hereinafter referred as “the Pass”), a valid passport or ID card, and potentially a visa, is required. For further information on the requirements of traveling with the Passes please visit our support page.
- In case the participant is a minor (up to and including 17 years of age), consent from a legal representative is required to participate in this Prize Draw. Interrail reserves the right to request proof of consent from a legal representative prior to issuing of a prize.
- An unaccompanied minor (up to and including 17 years of age) must be in possession of (and be able to show this upon request to any participating carrier) written permission from a legal representative.
- There are additional costs to be able to use the Pass, including but not limited to reservation costs and travel insurance. Those costs must be covered by the traveller. Interrail is not responsible and does not cover any direct or indirect costs associated with the use of the Pass, unless explicitly agreed in the general T&Cs.
- Article 2: Terms of Entry
- The Prize Draw can be entered by engaging with our community post. The directions to enter will be in the Prize Draw text on the community post.
- Employees of Interrail and associated companies, as well as members of their families, are excluded from participation in the Prize Draw.
- There are no communication costs in relation to your entry of the Prize Draw. This excludes your own costs of communication related to an internet subscription.
- Upon entry of the Prize Draw, the participant guarantees to have entered the information accurately, truthfully, up-to-date and in full.
- A participant can enter only once. The comment listed on the entry is considered to be the unique participant number for the Prize Draw in this Prize Draw.
- Entry into the Prize Draw is open from 10:00 CET on 29 July 2026 to 09:59 CET on 7 August 2026 (hereinafter: the 'Term of the Prize Draw’). Entries outside of the Term of the Prize Draw will not be accepted.
- Article 3: Determining the Winner
- There will be 5 winners, who will each win the Prize described in 4.1. below.
- Interrail will determine each winner through means of a random selection after the Term of the Prize Draw.
- The results of the Prize Draw will be announced on our Community platform that held the Prize Draw.
- Interrail will contact the winners directly and request them to claim their Prize and share the required information by email for Prize processing within 96 hours.
- In case a winner is non responsive within 96 hours or does not send the complete information details before the end of that period, an additional draw will be held. All rights of the first-picked winner will expire now when the new draw takes place.
- The winner must complete the booking form with the traveler information within 14 calendar days of receiving the booking form via email.
- The Prize will be processed and sent to the winner within 21 calendar days of receiving the correctly completed booking form.
- The winner can determine if they would like to use their Prize(s) for themself. If the winner receives more than one Prize, they can opt to use both or to give one to a travel companion.
- All decisions made by Interrail regarding this Prize Draw shall be considered final; no correspondence will be entered into about the prizes and how they were awarded.
- Article 4: The Prize
- Each prize consists of:
- An English language copy of the book ‘Moonlight Express’ by Monisha Rajesh (hereinafter the ‘Book’); and
- 1 Interrail/Eurail Global Passes (valid for 7 travel days in 1 month, 2nd class), in mobile format (hereinafter the ‘Passes’).
- The maximum economic value the Prize is the combined recommended retail price of the Book and the retail price of the Passes as shown on Interrail.com at the time of the Prize Draw.
- The winner is responsible for all taxes, costs and other expenses that are not explicitly included in or connected to the Prize, and agrees that upon accepting the Prize that the winner does so entirely at the winner’s own risk and responsibility. Costs made by the participant to participate, for example, but not limited to, accommodation costs, additional travel costs, Internet connection costs, will not be reimbursed.
- This Prize is not redeemable for cash and is non-exchangeable.
- Additional conditions in relation to the Book:
- The Book will be sent to the respective winners directly by Interrail.
- If the winner’s shipping address is located in a country to which PostNL or its delivery partners are unable to deliver, we will unfortunately be unable to provide the Book unless a reasonable alternative delivery arrangement can be agreed with the winner, such as delivery to an address at which the winner will be staying while travelling with their Pass.
- Additional conditions in relation to the Pass:
- Use of the Passes is subject to the Pass Conditions of Use.
- The Passes are valid for use for a period of 11 months from the date of issue. This period cannot be extended, nor can the Pass be re-issued due to winner’s (and/or their travel companion’s) inability to use it within the period of validity. If the Prize is not used within the 11 months, it will no longer be valid and cannot be used.
- Seat reservations are not included. The winner is responsible for purchasing and arranging any seat reservations that may be needed in some countries or trains.
- If applicable, the winner shall be responsible to obtain travel documentation, such as a visa.
- The Passes cannot be exchanged for a paper pass or any other Pass or product offered by Interrail nor can it be upgraded from 2nd class to 1st class.
- Each prize consists of:

- Interrail is not responsible for:
- providing transport services outside the reach of the Pass.
- any technical issues or damages in relation to the participation in the Prize Draw, as well as claims and damages, relating to and resulting from the undertaken trip.
- inability to travel due to invalid personal identification document
- any problems with the network, computer hardware or software, or any breakdown or failure that results in the participant's entry to be not received, incomplete or damaged.
- Interrail reserves the right to disqualify participants without providing notice or having to provide a reason, in case of suspicion of fraud or misconduct.
- Interrail reserves the right to disqualify an entry without providing notice or having to provide a reason in case the participant breaches the rules of these Terms and Conditions or law.
- Interrail has the right to reject entries that do not meet these Terms and Conditions.
- Interrail reserves the right to end or amend the Prize Draw Prizes, definitions and any other information, or to cancel this Prize Draw at any time without prior notice.
- Interrail reserves the right to request written proof of a possible winner’s residence and age before awarding a prize.
- Interrail is not responsible for:
- Article 6: Privacy and Date Processing
- Interrail respects the privacy of participants. When entering a Prize Draw, your Community username is used for prize selection, and if you are selected as a winner then you are asked to also share your first name, last name, date of birth, country of residence, email address, and shipping address so that we can provide you with your prize.
- Processing activities of your personal data related to participation in a Prize Draw is based on explicit consent to these terms and conditions provided during the participation form submission. We shall ensure that all personal information is provided to us in accordance with the Dutch Data Protection law.
- The personal information is stored for 12 months after the information is collected to enable you to use your prize. You can request removal of your data at any time. For more information on your rights as a data subject see our privacy policy.
- Interrail's privacy policy conditions are applicable to the use of any Interrail products won during the Prize Draw and is available on our Privacy and Cookie Statement page:
- Article 7: Dispute Settlement
- Interrail acts in accordance with the Dutch Code Promotional Gaming 2014 (Gedragscode Promotionele Kansspelen 2014).
- Complaints about this Prize Draw can be sent to Interrail B.V. PO Box 2338, 3500 GH, Utrecht, The Netherlands or to complaints@eurail.com.
- Any disputes, controversies between you and Interrail arising out of or in connection to the Prize Draw, the terms and conditions and the privacy statement shall, at first, be subject to an amicable resolution process.
- Where, pursuant to the previous paragraph, an amicable resolution proves unfruitful or impossible, the conflict will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court of Midden-Nederland (situated in Utrecht the Netherlands). The governing law will be Dutch Law.
