My friend and I are looking to travel for 1 month. If we are to choose the unlimited travel pass, are we then required to travel from the 1st in the month to the 30/31th? Of can it me from the middle of one month and continue to the middle
Of the next?

The monthly period starts from the day you activate it. You'll be able to use it for the next 30 days after your forst journey. It's not strictly bound from month to month.

Not necessarily 30 days. It will be 28 (or 29) days if you start in February, 31 days if you start in January or any other month with 31 days and 30 days if you start in any other month.
The rule is that if the validity of a one month pass starts on say the 3rd of a month it will be valid until the 2nd of next month.
