If I was to purchase a 2 month global pass today 7th May 2022, can I activate it on 6th April 2023 and then start my travel anytime during the following 2 months.

Yes you can. thee latest possible start date is 11 months after purchase, so in your example 7 April 2023. A 2-month pass will then be valid until 6 June 2023.
