2-person passes

Two people traveling together for the first time using Eurail Passes on each of their smart phones.

Note: we are new to these passes.  Hence, this may be a “dumb” question, but here goes:

Is it better to purchase a 2-person pass; or two, separate, 1-person passes?

There is no cost difference.

The passes are always separate, since they are bound to your name. I have no knowledge of two person passes.

I guess you have mobile passes?

When you buy them (whether you buy two passes, or each one buys a pass), you'll each get a code which you can use to activate it on the app. Only activate it, just before starting your travels.

You can put two passes on one device, but best is to have one each. Easier with ticket checks, getting through gates or a failsafe should one phone get stolen or lost.

My mistake - I was confused about the option to buy 2 passes together.

This entire thread was pointless -- sorry. :)
