It says all people must travel together. If 5 people want to take a day trip and 3 stay at hotel is this allowed?

Yes that is possible. But the 3 at the hotel cannot take another train than the first 5.

I prefer to split the Railpasses arround few devices in case that someone wanna travel alone for a part or explore a different village / City :)

I´ am not working for Eurail or Interrail i just share my knowledge here. Please ask in the Community and not via private message as this is the fastest way to get an answer.
